Doggy Daycare: Have Peace of Mind While Your Dog Has a Great Day
As a dog owner, leaving your best friend at home while you head to work, run errands or tackle a busy day can be difficult. You may find yourself wondering: Are they bored? Are they getting enough exercise? Are they lonely?
Doggy daycare can give you another option. Instead of spending the day waiting for you to come home, your dog can enjoy supervised play, socialization, mental stimulation and time to relax.
At In The Dog House in Northfield, MN, our goal is simple: create an environment where dogs can have a great day—and their owners can feel comfortable knowing they're in caring hands.
More Than Just a Place to Play
A great doggy daycare isn't simply a room filled with dogs.
At In The Dog House, we take a structured approach to daycare. Your dog's day includes supervised play and socialization balanced with relaxation and scheduled potty breaks.
Our daycare is run by Jacob, an experienced dog trainer with more than 12 years in the industry. Every dog is personally evaluated before joining the daycare group so we can help create a safe, comfortable and positive environment.
Exercise While You're Away
Dogs need activity, but finding enough time for exercise can be challenging for busy families.
Doggy daycare gives your dog an opportunity to move, play and interact throughout the day instead of spending those hours waiting at home.
After a day filled with appropriate activity and enrichment, you may find that your dog is ready to settle in with the family when they get home.
Socialization and Interaction
For dogs who enjoy the company of other dogs, daycare can provide opportunities for positive social interaction.
At In The Dog House, dogs aren't simply placed together and left to figure things out. Each new dog receives an evaluation and is slowly introduced to the group. Proper introductions, supervision and structure are important parts of our approach.
Dogs also get plenty of interaction with the people caring for them throughout the day.
There's Time to Relax, Too
Having fun doesn't mean your dog needs to play nonstop.
Our daycare balances activity with downtime. Dogs receive three scheduled potty breaks during the day and have opportunities to rest between play sessions. Fresh water is available throughout the day, and if your dog needs lunch, you can bring their food from home for us to serve at their scheduled mealtime.
Our daycare space is also temperature-controlled, giving dogs a comfortable place to spend their day regardless of Minnesota's changing weather.
Peace of Mind for Dog Owners
Perhaps one of the biggest benefits of doggy daycare isn't just what it provides for your dog—it's what it provides for you.
You can go about your day knowing your dog isn't simply sitting at home waiting for the door to open.
They're spending their day in a structured environment with supervised play, socialization, potty breaks and opportunities to rest.
Instead of wondering what your dog is doing all day, you can picture them making friends, exploring, playing and enjoying plenty of attention.
Is Doggy Daycare Right for Your Dog?
Every dog is different, which is why we require an evaluation before a new dog joins our daycare group.
During the evaluation, Jacob works with your dog and gradually introduces them to other dogs. This helps us determine whether daycare is a good fit and helps make your dog's introduction to the group as comfortable and stress-free as possible.
Dogs must be at least three months old to attend daycare, and dogs six months and older must be spayed or neutered. We also require dogs to be current on Bordetella, Rabies and Distemper vaccinations.
